Disclaimer: Anyone expecting a proper transcription or even accurate chords can forget it.
My goal in figuring out any piece of music is to find some reasonable (and sometimes
recognizable) background that I can play on acoustic guitar in my underwear and sing while
I arrange my sock drawer alphabetically. Improvements are welcome.

I quite enjoy playing this one, but the chorus gives me trouble. I'm just one voice and
I haven't figured out the best way for me to sing the higher "He's gone out of his head."
And the "Gonna find me another home" bit comes off lamely so I skip it entirely when its
just me.

[G] You woke the wrecking yard hounds when you [C] slammed the passenger [G] side.
And father watched you [Em] from the yard with his [D] knuckles wrapped in [G] ice.
[G] Now the screen door is still broken since you [C] kicked your Kodiacs [G] through it.
But we left the Christmas tree [Em] standing, in [D] case you turned a [G] round.

[G] Now I've heard you got a good job pitching [C] hay down in Salmon [G] Arm
Maybe I'll hike there [Em] from the coast when the [D] weather starts to [G] warm
[G] k.d. called on the weekend. She was [C] crying on the tele [G] phone.
'Cause Father said as far as [Em] he's concerned, you've been [D] stricken from our [G] home.

[D] He's gone out of his [G] head. (He's gone out of his head.)
[D] He's gone out of his [G] head. (He's gone out of his head.)
[D] He's gone out of his [G] head.
Sometimes [D] choices aren't so [C] clear.

[G] Father raged like a soldier. He put his [C] fist through the kitchen [G] door,
When I said it would have been [Em] better if you had [D] split on your own [G] accord.
[G] I don't care about the damage, but I [C] wish you were there to [G] see it
When I scored a hat trick [Em] on the team that [D] called you a fucking [G] queer.

[D] He's gone out of his [G] head. (He's gone out of his head.)
[D] He's gone out of his [G] head. (He's gone out of his head.)
[D] He's gone out of his [G] head.
Sometimes [D] choices aren't so [C] clear.

Gonna find me another home; the things you'll never feel.
Gonna find me another home; the things you'll never know.
Gonna find me another home; the things you'll never see.
Gonna find me another home; the things you'll never know.
